VISION
The aim of the department is to provide quality education to the youngsters so that they can contribute in the development of the nation. We not only aim on theoretical knowledge but also provide the students, exposure to the developing society so that they can build their future in a better way.
MISSION
• Imparting quality Technical Education.
• Integrated Industrial training and curricula.
• Research & Development.
• Non formal education through community development programs.
• Industry-Institute Partnership.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
• To cater to the large demand of workforce from pharmaceutical and drug industries
• To provide advanced knowledge and practical experience in chemistry
• To encourage research and development activities among students
• To develop in students employable skills for job opportunities in the field of education, R&D institutions and industries.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
• Students should have an advanced level understanding of at least three of the following areas of chemistry - Analytical, Inorganic, Organic, and Physical Chemistry. They should have a graduate level understanding of their major area(s) of research.
• Students should broaden their professional foundations through activities such as teaching, internships, and fellowships.
• Students should be able to communicate scientific results in writing and in oral presentation.
• Students should acquire the basic tools needed to carry out independent chemical research. Students should become proficient in their specialized area of chemistry and successfully complete an advanced research project.
About the department:-
College has started M.Sc. Chemistry Programme during the academic year 2009-2010 affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University with Organic Chemistry as a specialization with an intake of 30 students. The department has well equipped laboratories for Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, a storeroom and a staff room. One faculty member is Ph. D. one is M.Phil, one is SET qualified. Department is always engaged in the active research.
Staff members of the department regularly attended state, National and International level Seminars, Conferences and present their work. Staff Members have published good number papers in reputed and referred Journals.
Various activities such as group discussion, seminars are arranged for the students to develop the communicative skills. The department arranges workshop, and guest lecture of eminent from other colleges, University and industries.
OBJECTIVES &GOALS OF THE DEPARTMENT
The basic objective of the Department of Chemistry is to educate the next generations of chemists with the capacity to solve real problems.
• To impart sufficient qualitative/quantitative analytical and synthetic chemical knowledge and skills to our students to be able to analyze and solve real-world problems
• To impart transferable skills, abilities, and knowledge required in a wide range of careers in basic and applied research and development.
• To impart ability to analyze complex chemical problems
• To impart a disciplined approach to conceptualizing chemical problems in numerical terms, working on them theoretically before attempting to put theory into practice.
• To develops students ability to acquire new knowledge for a range of work areas
• To develop the students capacity to readily adapt to and make use of emerging technologies.
